Amanda Staples

Amanda Staples writes commercial fiction but doesn’t like her characters to live happily ever after. She’s had short fiction broadcast, and published in various anthologies, online places and lit mags and can often be found performing her work at Talking Tales. Amanda has a fascination with death and uncomfortable subjects. Delving into the psyche of her characters helps her avoid having to delve into her own. In her other hat (not the one that makes her look like Miss Marple) she is a Clinical Hypnotherapist. Amanda had her play Weston on a Sunday performed in Theatre Utopia, Croydon in 2017 and Bristol at the Alma Tavern Theatre in 2018. Amanda has is seeking publication of her finished novel whilst unravelling another.

Her dream is to have a library in her house big enough to require a ladder on wheels that she can glide about on sniffing old book spines.
